Research Spotlight: Learning’s Big Data Problem: Measuring and Analyzing Impact (Webinar)
The wave of information known as Big Data has been growing exponentially in recent years, and organizations are hungrier than ever for more data. They collect data from systems all across the enterprise, certain that it holds to key to improving results. In the face of all this information, it is critical that organizations get better at not only collecting more meaningful data, but also understanding just what it all means.
Simply reporting course completions is no longer enough. Organizations need to capture data around how people are interacting with learning and the impact it is having on their behavior and performance. They also need to address their ability (or lack thereof) to analyze all of this data and be able to answer substantive questions.
David Wentworth, Principal Learning Analyst with Brandon Hall Group, Michael Rochelle, Chief Strategy Officer and Principal HCM Analyst with Brandon Hall Group, and Mike Rustici, Co-Founder of Rustici Software & CEO, Watershed LRS, reviewed the results of Brandon Hall Group’s 2016 Learning Measurement Study and 2016 Learning Analytics Study, identifying what organizations are measuring, what they aren’t, and how they are making use of that data
